Jos introduced me thoroughly to Alfred Hitchcock after having bought the box set of his later american stuff. Perhaps the best thing on the dvds though is the trailers- bloody hell Hitchcock is brilliant- this was back in the days when motion pictures were all round entertainment with suspense, romance and comedy all bound up in one linear(ish) storyline. (The other thing which always strikes me about these films is also the pace of them- so slow compared with the MTVed up features today.)
