Maus part 2
Just brilliant- seriously, look click here, just get it.
Significant Objects
It all seems to be about tale telling and stories tonight- this was a project featured on Design Observer, which caught my attention as it reminded me of one of my fav projects of late- that collaboration between Onkar Kular, Noam Toran, and Keith Jones: The MacGuffin Library. The idea of creating fake stories around real objects and therefore increasing their value is (too me) interesting-design-tastic. Link: here, oh god it feels good.
Maus
Just finished part one of Art Spiegelman's 'Maus'. What can I say, i'm going to out straight away and get the second part (I found it in Bow Library). For those of you who don't know, the basic run down, is him interviewing his Jewish Father about his time in Nazi Germany. It's meta as fuck to brilliant effect and the Jews are portrayed as mice, the Nazi's as Cats and the Poles as Pigs- seriously, anyone whether they like books, or not or comics (or graphic novels whatever you like) or not you should check this shiz out. Also hot is this ace logo- beautifully re-appropriated.
Concept website?
Think this guy has got something interesting (don't know how successful it is but...). I think it's potential comes when you start to think about story telling and perhaps a book or comic (remember that ted talk I blogged that time...). It brings a more adventure and exploratory nature to the site. One of the first sites i've seen to begin to use the potential of the internet to speak. Lots of potential here- maybe words and pictures in the future? Link: here yo.
Todd Lamb
Found this guy, Todd Lamb, initially via his 'Notes from Chris' project, but then equally loved his experiments, and (make sure you click the back buttons on his site) his other work. I just think it's a cute, and interesting story telling, social play thingy. Nice.
