Plinth Stones

I started this project a number of years ago, trying to find a purpose for stones that were unearthing themselves on the allotment. Trying to turn the annoyance of snagging my spade into something delightful. I started collecting them – of course. 

Then started putting holes in them to see if I could stack them. Then made these small plinths for them to sit on. I was thinking of combining Barbara Hepworth with a bit of Tom Sachs. But considering they were languishing in a box for years I’m most pleased just to have scratched that itch and finished something (and felt the urge to blog about them).

Christmas cards

Really enjoying getting back into the lino cutting. I find the whole process satisfyingly therapeutic. If you want one send me your address and I'll pop one in the post - but be quick not long till Christmas!

Bone Island

Part of an ongoing project looking at nature and the city. These are photographs of Queenhithe, AKA Bone Island. A beach opposite Tate Modern and The Globe on the Thames.

Google Maps – Badges

A mini project I did in an hour or so in a lunchtime. Every place I've ever lived, in both map and street view on some small badges. Lower Peover, Cheshire - Knutsford, Cheshire - New Cross, SE London - Peckham, SE London - Brockley SE London - Mile End, E London.

Old Photo Gifs

A few years back a load of stuff got left outside our house from a house clearance. I managed to rescue a Sydenham familie's photo albums from the 70s. Mostly the pictures are crap photographically but together there's a certain Britishness to them. After watching the Mariner's Children video  'It Carved Your Name Into The Ground' by Betsy Dadd, I thought I'd do this with all of them and eventually put them to music I suppose. For now here is a gif.
